冒頭に記したような、錚々たる候補の女優たちの全員を退けて、「エルム街の悪夢」(2010年)のルーニー・マーラが、デヴィッド・フィンチャー監督がメガホンをとるリメイク映画「ドラゴン・タトゥーの女」の主演女優として、天才ハッカーの女調査員リスベット・サランデルを演じることが決定したと、製作・配給のソニー・ピクチャーズが発表しました…！！

ハリウッド版リメイク映画の最新作「ドラゴン・タトゥーの女」は、言うまでもなく、故スティーグ・ラーソンが執筆した、スウェーデン発のベストセラー・ミステリ「ミレニアム」シリーズの第1巻「ドラゴン・タトゥーの女」の再映画化となるもので、原作の全3巻をすでにトリロジーとして映画化し、2009年にスウェーデンで連続公開されたオリジナル映画の人気も高く、そのハリウッド版をデヴィッド・フィンチャー監督がメガホンをとることで、新たな大ヒット・シリーズになるのは決定的なプロジェクトです。
それだけに、前述のような女優たちが主演の座を狙う争奪戦が大きな注目を集めていたわけですが、先月7月はじめに、ココで予告？！しておいたように、デヴィッド・フィンチャー監督と、リメイク映画のプロデューサーであるスコット・ルーディンの最新作「ソーシャル・ネットワーク」(10月1日全米公開)に出たのは一日の長だったようで、結局、ルーニー・マーラがデヴィッド・フィンチャー監督の映画に、4本連続して主演することになってしまいました…！！
4本というのは、もちろん、「ソーシャル・ネットワーク」に加え、下 ↓ にアタッチしたプレス・リリースに記載されているとおり、ソニピもやはり、トリロジーとして、原作の全3巻をすべて映画化する予定だからで、「ザ・シューター/極大射程」（2007年)で、マーク・ウォールバーグの相手役をつとめたケイト・マーラの妹…といった程度の認識しかされていなかったルーニー・マーラは、リスベット・サランデル役のビッグ・チャンスをつかんだことで、今後、ハリウッドを代表するトップ女優の座に昇りつめることになります。

「シンドラーのリスト」(1993年)や、「アメリカン・ギャングスター」(2007年)で知られる脚本家のスティーヴン・ザイリアンがシナリオを執筆したハリウッド版リメイク映画「ドラゴン・タトゥーの女」の、その他のキャストをあわせて紹介しておくと、主人公のジャーナリスト、ミカエルを演じるのは、007/ジェームズ・ボンド・シリーズの次回作の予定も、近日中に少しハッキリしてくるかもしれないダニエル・クレイグ。
そのダニエル・クレイグのミカエルと肉体関係の間柄にある、ミレニアム・マガジンの編集長の人妻エリカ・ベルジェは、名前の最後に“ペン”を書かなくてもよくなった、「ピッパ・リーの私生活」(2009年)のピッパ・リーことロビン・ライト。
「ミレニアム」の役員になるヴァンゲル・グループの会長マルティンは、「天使と悪魔」(2009年)のステラン・スカルスガルドです。

ソニー・ピクチャーズは、ハリウッド版でも映画の舞台を変えずに、来月9月からスウェーデンで撮影を開始する予定で、全米公開日はすでに来年2011年12月21日に決定しています。
デヴィッド・フィンチャー監督が「ソーシャル・ネットワーク」で、次回の第83回アカデミー賞を席巻する可能性が極めて濃厚に高いことから、もしかすると、「ドラゴン・タトゥーの女」は、オスカー監督となった受賞後の第1作めとして公開されるのかもしれませんね。
オリジナル映画で、リスベットをカリスマ的に演じたノオミ・ラパスとは、どのように違ったイメージの役作りで、ルーニー・マーラが登場するのか？！、楽しみですが、ルーニー・マーラはこれでケニアにいくつでも孤児院を建てられそうです…！！


DANIEL CRAIG AND ROONEY MARA TO STAR IN THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

(Culver City, August 16, 2010) -- Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara have been cast in the lead roles of Columbia Pictures’ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy under the direction of David Fincher. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo ? the first film of the series, which also includes The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest ? begins shooting next month in Sweden. The screenplay is written by Steve Zaillian and the film is being produced by Scott Rudin, Cean Chaffin, Ole Sondberg and Soren Starmose. Mikael Wallen and Anni Fernandez are executive producers. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is set for worldwide release December 21, 2011.

The Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson has been published in 44 countries and has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide thus far. In the U.S. alone, the series has sold over 10 million copies, and the sales were recently calculated at the remarkable rate of one book per second. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has broken sales records in virtually every country in which it has been published. It has sold over 5 million copies in the U.S. and has out-sold any other e-book in that rapidly expanding market. A literary phenomenon, all three books currently sit atop the New York Times Best Seller lists.
