ハリウッドの良心と言われる名優のケン・ワタナベが演じる日本人科学者の芹沢猪四郎博士が所属する研究機関の Monarch を通じて、2014年公開の「ゴジラ」と今夏撮影予定の続篇「キング・オブ・モンスターズ」（2019年3月22日全米公開）と世界観を共有して結びついていることから、ゴジラ・シネマティック・ユニバースの最新作！！と位置づけられる「コング : スカル・アイランド」の最終版の予告編をお楽しみください…！！





世界観を共有している…と言っても、ズバ抜けた演技力の持ち主のリジーが主演女優だった「ゴジラ」の物語の舞台は現代の2014年だったのに対して、「部屋」（2015年）のオスカー女優のブリー・ラーソンが主演女優の「コング : スカル・アイランド」の物語の舞台は過去の1971年なので、両映画の間には約43年間の開きがあるため、Monarch が関与していること以外に共通点があるのか、ないのか？！は何とも言えませんが…、

自主製作映画の「モンスターズ」（2010年）でデビューしたギャレス・エドワーズ監督は「ゴジラ」が第2作めで、この「コング : スカル・アイランド」のジョーダン・ヴォクト＝ロバーツ監督も、高評価をされた「ザ・キングス・オブ・サマー」（2013年）に続く2作めの劇映画！！と、大胆に新人の監督を起用した取り組みにおいて、新しい才能を飛躍させるためのジャンピング・ボードの役割を担ったブロックバスター映画という点は同じです…！！
