現地では今日の9月15日(日)に閉幕を迎えた第38回トロント国際映画祭のグランプリにあたる観客賞の栄冠が、キウェテル・イジョフォー主演の「12イヤーズ・ア・スレイブ」に与えられました…！！

「シェイム」（2012年）のスティーヴ・マックイーン監督が、黒人奴隷の理不尽な実話を映画化した同映画は、今夏7月半ばに “ 次回オスカーの有力候補 ” として、予告編を紹介しましたが…、近年のトロント国際映画祭の観客賞受賞作は、「スラムドッグ・ミリオネア」(2008年)、「プレシャス」(2009年)、「ザ・キングズ・スピーチ」(2010年)、「シルバー・ライニングス・プレイブック」(2012年)といった次第ですから、大方の読み通り、「12イヤーズ・ア・スレイブ」が来春の第86回アカデミー賞の台風の目になる確率は、さらにグンと大きく高まりましたね…！！


ブラッド・ピットがプロデューサーの「12イヤーズ・ア・スレイブ」は、北米では FOXサーチライト・ピクチャーズの配給により、来月10月18日から限定公開です…！！
