「ワイルド・スピード」シリーズの大ヒットにあやかった二番煎じかと見られていたアーロン・ポール主演作ですが、どうやら、その予想とは少し違って、思いのほかシリアスな復讐映画の要素を含んだカー・アクション・ムービーだったようです…！！









いよいよ今週末に最終回のフィナーレを迎えてしまうテレビシリーズ「ブレイキング・バッド」でブレイキングしたアーロン・ポールを主役に起用して、EA 発の同名人気レースゲーム・シリーズを映画化したカー・アクション映画の最新作「ニード・フォー・スピード」の予告編を、製作・配給のディズニー・ドリームワークスが初公開しました…！！

前述のように、柳の下の第2の「ワイルド・スピード」として、単純にレースゲームを映画化し、カー・アクションを観せるだけの作品と思われていた「ニード・フォー・スピード」ですが、特殊部隊のネイビーシールズのミッションを生々しく描いた「アクト・オブ・バラー」（2012年）のヒットで、デビューを飾った元スタントマンのスコット・ウォー監督がメガホンをとっただけに、ご覧のように意外にシリアスな趣の復讐がテーマのリベンジ・ムービーだったようで…、

アーロン・ポール扮する主人公のメカニック、トビーは、ジリ貧に陥った自分の自動車整備工場の再建と、イモージェン・プーツ（リメイク版「フライト・ナイト」2011年）扮する美人のジュリアの自動車販売ビジネスを手助けすることを目的に、元NASCARレーサーの傲慢なディノと渋々ながらチームを組んで、公道レースに参戦するが、その非合法なレースの結果の惨事の責任を、ディノに押しつけられ、無実の罪で刑務所に送られてしまう…！！、そして、2年後、ようやく出所したトビーは、かつての仲間とジュリアの助けを借り、自らハンドルを握って、ディノと公道レースで対決することで、復讐を遂げようとする…！！、といったプロットとなっています…！！


アーロン・ポールに罪をなすりつける卑劣な悪役のディノは、マーベル・シネマティック・ユニバースで、アイアンマンのお父さんを演じているドミニク・クーパー！！、その他に、「ナイト・ミュージアム」シリーズのラミ・マレック、メラニー・グリフィスの娘のダコタ・ジョンソン（「21ジャンプストリート」2012年）、ラッパーのキッド・カディ、リメイク版「ロボコップ」（2014年2月7日全米公開）のマイケル・キートンらが出演の「ニード・フォー・スピード」は、来春2014年3月14日から全米公開！！、さて、「ブレイキング・バッド」後…のアーロン・ポールは主役を張れる映画スターとして飛躍を遂げることができるでしょうか…？！
